The problem of gangs is a city wide problem.
When parents fail their obligations of instilling moral values in their kids, the role of elected officials becomes dull.
Our primary focus should be on how to provide a strong family base, and value system for our children.
There is right and there is wrong. By involving our children with our local churches and by providing after school voluntary programs we can address the recruitment which is part of the problem.
The other aspect is the law enforcement focus, which needs the participation of our neighbors and watchful eyes to reduce the gang infestations of our communities.
Unless the communit becomes aware and united in its resolve, the gang problem will continue.
